Chef Shayna is on a mission to change
the way we think about food!
Chef Shayna, a culinary inspiration with a passion for changing the way we perceive food, has become an influential culinary authority in California's Central Valley over the past decade. Her journey began as a children's cooking teacher and evolved to include hosting a regular cooking segment on ABC30, becoming a published author, and embracing many more culinary adventures.
As her career expanded, Chef Shayna recognized the need for a brand and website update to align with her evolving direction.
THE CHALLENGE:
Chef Shayna's multifaceted career demanded a brand strategy and website that could adapt to her diverse endeavors while maintaining the flexibility to explore new horizons. The challenge was to create a brand and online presence that captured her evolving (more grown-up) identity and ever-expanding portfolio.
THE SOLUTION:
To address the challenge at hand, we embarked on a strategic journey to craft a brand identity that seamlessly matched Chef Shayna's evolving ventures while allowing room for future growth. Next up was to translate that to a modern, updated website that could serve as the main hub for all of her recipes, blogs, videos, events, book launches, and press.
Streamlining her content library to provide an easy-to-use customer journey to engage her audience would be key to the success of her new website overhaul. With the addition of a searchable recipe database, downloadable recipe cards, modern page layouts, and an updated visual identity - the website and brand overhaul were a certain success!

The Details

In need of a more mature brand, we developed a mood board to set the tone for the website’s look and feel and create a new logo, graphics, and marketing materials. From social media to business cards, Chef Shayna now has a grown up look that is consistent across all platforms.

Beginning with UX design, we developed a user-friendly structure, flow and navigation, so that users of Shayna’s site could find what they were looking for.
Previously Chef Shayna’s website was very text heavy making it hard to read. We updated the page layout and design with titles, shorter paragraphs, compelling photography and calls to action.
To bring the website alive, we created page layouts that highlighted her gorgeous photography as well as the new fonts, colors, and textures we created in her visual identity.

We added several new features and calls to action to the website to help people navigate the website with ease.
Created a new recipe section separate from the blog, making them filterable by meal type and ingredients.
Reconfigured the online booking system for her workshops and classes. Users who previously had trouble using the online booking tool were now breezing through the prompts.
Added a calendar of events to quickly and easily see what classes and workshops are coming up.

In addition to a new look and design, we worked with Shayna to craft website copy that told her story and explained her value quickly and easily.
With the fresh new copy and updated formatting, Chef Shayna’s new website is engaging, inspires action and is optimized for search engines as well as mobile browsing.
